Few Bible Scholars in our time have ever heard of the 2520 year prophecy; for the most part it has been dropped from our understanding for well over a hundred years.  However the 2520 runs throughout the Bible, it was a very integral part of the prophetic understandings the pioneer prophecy students had in the mid 1800's and was included in the 1843 Prophecy Chart.  This 1843 Prophecy Chart I am referring to was a study aid made for the prophecy teachers of the early 1840s to help them teach the prophetic visions of Daniel and John (Revelation).  This chart was a direct fulfillment of this text found in Habakkuk 2:2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

Our aim in teaching the 2520 year prophecy is to show that God has a special people, and that the Lord God demands our obedience to His laws He established from the beginning. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. Revelation 14:12

To understand the seven times or the 2520 it must be seen as it really is, it is a curse; it is a divine principle; it is contracted disciplinary action taken in case there is a breach of the contract; it is a punishment. By its nature, the 2520 fulfills the definition of a time prophecy but goes way beyond an actual time prophecy.  Whereas a time prophecy has a defined starting point and duration the 2520 has a duration and a conditional starting point.  It is like a three minute egg timer, you know it will run for three minutes but it can start at any time it is initiated.

Pattern of the 2520:

1. curse defined and warning proclaimed to obey the Decalogue,

2. trampling of the Decalogue

3. beginning curse pronounced by God Himself,

4. sentence commenced and

5. repentant gathered / unrepentant scattered.

Pattern of time prophecies:

1. prophet proclaims a starting point that will happen in the future

2. prophesied circumstance or event happens and marks the starting point

3.prophesized event takes place at the conclusion and a prophet declares the end of the time period has been reached.

Why is the 2520 important? The early Christians, during their harrowing exile into the catacombs of Rome at the time of pagan persecution questioned “How long will we be scattered?” They went through much trial and tribulation to be able to worship their God. Why was it this way when God was in ultimate control? The only answer is through the understanding of the 2520. Finally, many centuries later, a true God fearing nation with total freedom of religion and conscience would be allowed to be formed and come into full power in 1798, which is the exact end of the scattering 2520—the 2520 where there was no repentance ever offered from man. 46 years later a church was established in 1844 that was given the full understanding of the law of God. His law was not truly understood since the beginning of the gathering 2520 in 677—even by those who professed to. We are told through inspiration that a few God fearing people hid the ark from the invading armies in a cave and it was never seen again, within it was kept the Decalogue—God’s moral law. The Law and the Sabbath slowly faded from popular understanding but in 1844, the end of the southern tribe’s 2520, a prophet was raised, and once again the Sabbath and the Moral Law was to be proclaimed and fully understood. 

Another reason it is important is it serves as a second witness to the 2300 day / year prophecy which points to the sanctuary in heaven.  Without the 2520, the 2300 day prophecy stands alone without a witness to back it and we loose the ability to establish it on a firm foundation.
